Don’t get me wrong, I love all things politics. One of my least favorite things is when people say that they don’t like talking about politics because people get mad- just because something is frustrating, difficult to talk about, or even upsetting, doesn’t mean it should necessarily never be talked about! I really like to hear opinions that differ from mine, even if they may make me want to scream. That being said, Thanksgiving is supposed to be a day of giving thanks, not fighting with some uncle you haven’t seen in 3 years. I know that I have less than no desire to hear my uncle talk about how Trump is “making America great again” while eating pie.
So, here are a few wholesome things to talk about instead of the current presidency, or generally any topic that’ll make your blood boil.
1. Season 2 of Stranger Things
***Spoiler alert*** How could you not talk about Jonathan and Nance’s kiss with literally everyone you know?????
2. Corgis, and honestly just animals in general
Guaranteed to get you at least 5 minutes of “if I had one I would name it…”
3. What you would do if you won the lottery
Dream vacation perhaps?
4. Your favorite on campus activities
Remember to take this time to catch up with your relatives! You only see them once in a while!
