Yet Another Reason to Love Target

Yet Another Reason to Love Target

We already have an obsession with Target. It has great deals, a huge variety of items, and feels classy. Shopping there makes people feel happy. I end up in the store for hours and come out with way more than I intended to buy. Want one more reason to like Target?

Target is raising the minimum hourly wage to $11 for its employees. While this minimum raise bump may not seem high for states like Massachusetts, it is more than 48 states’ minimum wage and much more than the federal minimum wage. Target has also promised to continue to raise its minimum wage to $15 by the end of 2020, making it the first store of its kind to raise wages to $15. This could be the beginning of a movement proving that low-paying industries can start paying more. The goal is to help with Target’s competitive advantage as well as its retention and recruitment of employees. A lot of Target employees are going to be happy, and a lot of Target customers are going to be even happier to shop there.
