Experiencing summer, fall, and a little bit of winter during a lovely “fall” semester here at Tufts means one thing for us collegiettes: A LOT of different pairs of shoes. From flip-flops to snow boots, we packed ‘em all for first semester, and it’s important to choose the right pair for each day.  A pair of shoes can say so many things about its wearer. With so many options overflowing from the sliding closets in our dorm rooms, it can be troubling at times to pick the perfect pair of shoes that conveys exactly what you are feeling. If you struggle with figuring out what kind of message you want to send the world via your shoes, then read on to find out more about what your shoes say about you.

Moccasins: You love warm nights by the fire with some hot chocolate and a movie.  You are aware that your mocs may be viewed as slippers by some, but you don’t care! Being cozy is what life is all about, right?

Flip-Flops: You’re a causal, carefree, summer girl who loves to get outside and under the sun! If it’s over 60 degrees, you know you’ll be in shorts and flip-flops embracing the the last of the warm(ish) weather.

Booties: If you’re sporting these trendy shoes, you’re on top of your sh*t and you know it. These cute fall staples let the world know that you’re powerful and intelligent, and you look put-together. What could be better?

Running Shoes: Although these may not be the most fashion-forward shoes in your closet, you don’t give a f*ck because you feel as if you’re walking on a cloud. Whether you’re running a 5k or just walking to the Rez, wearing these says that you’re athletic, or at least trying to be.

Bean Boots: It’s highly likely that winter is your favorite season. Trudging through the snow with your reliable Bean Boots and wool socks is something you know and love. If you’re rocking Bean Boots, you’re a smart, sensible girl who clearly did her homework and ordered these bad boys before they sold out for the winter, again.

Converse: You’re feeling edgy today. The soft, playful patterns of fall just aren’t able to contain your rocker-chic style. Whether it be a dress or ripped jeans, your Chucks add a little punk to your outfit.

Hunter Boots: If you’re wearing these, then you are actually pumped that it’s raining so you can get some use out of your ridiculously expensive rain boots. You just can’t wait to jump into that puddle over there without a care in the world.

So, tomorrow when you pick out your shoes for the day, choose wisely and remember what each pair will say about you!

Hi!! My name is Paige Fielding. I'm from Revere, Massachusetts and I am a member of the Tufts University Class of 2019. I high jump for the Tufts Women's Track & Field team, so I am always eager to learn about new health and fitness trends. Even though I am an athlete, fashion is a big part of my life and I love to stay on trend with the latest styles. My favorite season is winter. I am a skier, so I embrace the bitter cold. Tap dancing is another hobby of mine. It's a killer for your calves and performing with all eyes on me is something I'm used to, so tap is perfect for me. I love Her Campus and how it's a place for colligettes to write about and talk about girl things! I love reading HC when I just need a break from studying. HCXO - Paige
