Strong Women Strong Girls Teams Up with Brandless for International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day, celebrated this Thursday March 8th, recognizes the many achievements of women and the battle that many women face every day to establish equality between all genders. This year, Tufts’ Strong Women Strong Girls chapter celebrates International Women’s Day by working alongside Brandless to host a giveaway of boxes of tampons and panty liners in the Upper Campus Center Patio.

So what is Brandless? Brandless is a company that sells high quality everyday essentials at really reasonable prices. The company’s mission is to spread access of quality goods to people who normally could not afford them (all items on the website are just $3!).

With the help of Brandless, Strong Women Strong Girls hopes to help end the stigma with the topic of feminine hygiene and normalize the experiences of women.  Access to hygienic products is a privilege that many people, including myself, take for granted every day. Brandless aims to make hygiene a basic right by making high quality products accessible to all people regardless of socioeconomic status.

Strong Women Strong Girls will be hosting the giveaway in the Campus Center 12:00-3:00 on Thursday March 8th.  A photo booth will also be in the campus center to celebrate the accomplishments and strength of all women. All products that are not given away at Tufts will be donated to a nearby shelter.

How will you be spending International Women’s Day? Look for ways to empower the women in your life and celebrate self-care on Thursday, March 8th and every other day.
