Dear Malia,

I heard you’re trying to decide which college to go to, and I bet you’re a little stressed. I know I was when I was your age, and I didn’t have the added pressure of major news publications trying to make my decision for me. I’m sure you have more than enough people telling you what they think you should do, but I’m going to throw in my two cents anyway. Here are 9 reasons why you should choose Tufts University:

1. It’s a good school and caters to every interest. Obviously everyone here’s smart, but on top of that, everyone’s ~qUiRkY~ and interested in a million different things. But seriously, there are more than 300 different clubs. You can do literally anything (like join Her Campus).

2. I hear you’re interested in film? How convenient! We have a brand spankin’ new Film and Media Studies Major for you (or you can just mosey on over to Brown and Brew and check out what cool web series TUTV is producing today).

3. Speaking of film, I heard you interned on the set of Girls? What a coincidence! When they filmed in my town this summer, I spent about an hour loitering by the set hoping for a glimpse of Lena Dunham. So, when you get here, we can get coffee and bond over shared experiences.

4. You literally cannot beat this location. Beautiful suburban campus? Yes. Fifteen minute commute to Boston? Yes. Weekend trips to New York? Yes.

5. Another great thing about the location is the wonderful variety of seasons (albeit sometimes a little too much of one in particular). (There’s actually entirely too much winter). (The snow really kind of sucks). (But at least the sledding’s great).

6. Your calves will look great. I’m sure you remember from your tour of Tufts that the hill is no joke. Tufts students have hands down THE best calves in the Northeast.

7. Our athletics are actually pretty good. Our softball, men’s lacrosse, and men’s soccer teams are all reigning champs. However, if you’re a football fan, this might not be the place for you.

8. But in all honesty, our students are incredible. Tufts is an exciting, diverse campus, the classes are great, the people are interesting, and it’s so fun. There is literally always something to do, events to attend, people to meet. I love it here, and you would too.

9. And, last but not least, we love you already.

I’m sure we’ll tone it down your freshman year though. Don’t worry, we are ~chill~.

XOXO,

Leila & The Her Campus Team
