1. The Scoop N Scootery

The Scoop N Scootery is a mobile ice cream vendor and delivery service (YES, DELIVERY!) that offers many flavors of ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sundaes. Located on College Ave, it is certainly closer than Davis for the uphill crowd, and if you don’t feel like leaving your room, the treats can be brought to you in 30 minutes or less! The truck is parked on campus on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 5pm-11pm. Our favorites include the Banana Hammock Sundae and the Black Heart Sundae.

2. Helen’s Roast Beef & Pizzeria

Helen’s Roast Beef & Pizzeria is located behind Wren on Boston Avenue. Their most famous (or infamous) pie – commonly ordered by everyone – is the Bluezone. The mix of creamy blue cheese and crunchy crust is perfect for soaking up any beverages that may be lingering in your system, and the spicy buffalo sauce provides a kick that may leave your mouth a little sore in the morning. You can’t go through your first year at Tufts without trying a Bluezone. Also, their Chicken Parm Calzone is highly underappreciated but delicious.

3. Pizza Days

Another infamous local eatery…To be honest it’s not the best before the sun goes down, but it does the trick when you’re looking for cheap, late-night pizza (it’s open until 3am). Some say their Buffalo Chicken Calzone rivals Helen’s Bluezone. Other highly-rated dishes include the classic cheese and pepperoni pies, as well as their cinnamon balls.

4. Blue Fuji

Which of these is not like the other? Blue Fuji is less of a late-night eatery and more of a dinner option when Dewick or Carm isn’t bringing their A-game. They offer Chinese, Japanese, and gluten-free food. Also, many of their dishes are organic! Some may argue that it can run a little pricey, but others say it’s worth every penny. Many crowd favorites from the sushi side of the menu include the Organic Avocado Maki, Spicy Tuna Maki, Avocado Salad, and Shrimp Tempura Maki. Favorite dishes include the Sesame Chicken and any of their Fried Brown Rice options.

5. Anna’s Taqueria

Anna’s, located in Davis Square, is often underrated because it is compared to Chipotle. However, Anna’s delivers until 1 am and has a much more authentic feel than other chains such as Chipotle and Boloco. They also have a variety of traditional Mexican dishes on their menu like the highly recommended burritos and tacos.

6. J.P. Licks

Another girls’ night staple (they only deliver until 9:45pm), J.P. Licks has great ice cream, frappes, and more. They have special monthly flavors like Apple Crisp and Salty Caramel this September. Our favorites include Mint Cookies ’n’ Cream, Brownie Brownie Batter, and cookie dough. It’s worth the trip to Davis, and their kiddie size assures you that you aren’t ruining your diet. When they deliver, there’s a $20 minimum. (Pro Tip: You can get it delivered to Tisch…)
