Last-Minute Pop Culture-Inspired Halloween Costumes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tufts chapter.

As every teenager and young adult would say the minute the month turns from September to October, it is now ~spooky season~, meaning Halloween is almost here! However, there’s a chance you’ve probably put off getting a costume until now. Here are five last-minute funny Halloween costumes that won’t take much out of your wallet.

1. Instagram influencer

You may have heard about this costume that you can buy from Urban Outfitters, but most of us already have this look already in our closets! If not, here are some cheap alternatives. This look is super simple and pretty genius.

2. Lara Jean Covey from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was a huge success, and Lara Jean’s colorful and fun outfits would definitely make you recognizable as the movie’s sweet and quirky protagonist. I wish I could say that this costume came with a Peter Kavinsky, but one can only dream.

**The reviews said that this runs small**

Definitely pricey. Canvas shoes or Converse are good alternatives.

Also, let’s be real…Halloween parties are SO HOT. I recommend only wearing one of these two items below, and maybe skipping the tights.

3. “U know I had to do it to em” Kid

This one speaks for itself.

4. DW from Arthur

Honestly a classic. Arthur memes have been popular for years, and DW never fails to disappoint.

5. Laura Lee

Probably the easiest to recreate on this list, this costume takes little to no effort whatsoever. Laura Lee is a YouTube beauty guru-turned meme after an apology video after her racist tweets went viral. In the video, she fake cries and isn’t the most convincing in her apology.

Unfortunately, Lee took down the video, but it still might be out there somewhere on the Internet.
