1.What activities do you participate on campus (i.e. your claim to fame)?Â
I’m the type of person who needs to be busy at all times, so I’ve tried to get involved in a lot of different things on campus. For starters, I have been both Director of Philanthropy and President of Alpha Phi, which have been incredible experiences. As Director of Philanthropy last fall for our Bid Your Heart Out auction, I learned that sororities and student groups as a whole have an incredible opportunity to bring together all of the parts of our campus and our community to do something incredible and to be a positive force, despite what some may think. Last year, we were able to raise $10,000 for Women’s Heart Health during that one single night.Â
I also have been involved in Read by the River, a literacy initiative run through Tufts Hillel. Each year we hold a huge carnival for children of the Medford and Somerville community, where various student organizations set up booths with fun literacy based activities for the children. It is so fun to work with kids both that day and through our outreach that we partake in all year.
2. Any hobbies or special interests (sleeping counts if that is of interest)?Â
As a native New Yorker, I love winter activities, and will jump at any chance to go skiing, ice skating, or play in the snow. At the same time, there is nothing better than sitting in bed on a gross, cold day and watching movies and hanging out with my friends. One thing I think few girls can say is that I love football and pretending to be a guy. With three daughters, my dad tried to get me as into football as much as he is, and I’ve become a die hard New York Jets fan. I love watching sports all day almost as much as I love a day of shopping in Harvard Square.Â
3. What is the one accomplishment that you are most proud of at Tufts?
My biggest Tufts accomplishment is definitely chairing Alpha Phi’s 2nd Annual Bid Your Heart Out Auction last year. It was a lot of work and I may have been lacking sleep, but putting together a successful and fun event was completely worth it. Seeing all of our planning and work come into fruition was the most rewarding thing I’ve done at Tufts.Â
4. Do you have a dream career? If so, what?
My dream career is being the first female President, but I’m nervous that Hillary may beat me to it.Â
5. What is your favorite part about going to Tufts?Â
My favorite part about going to Tufts is the people here. I’ve met so many awesome new friends from all over the world who continuously challenge me in my classes. I’m often shocked about how impressive everyone around me is!
6. Describe your average Tufts student in one sentence:  Â
Your typical Tufts student can take 5 classes, have 2 internships, yet have time to be with their friends and go out every weekend. The average Tufts student barely has time to think, but loves every second of it.Â
7. What is your favorite thing about Davis Square?Â
The recent Froyo battle is by far my favorite part of Davis Square. Driving to Berryline for my first 2 years of college was rough, so I was thrilled whem Iyo finally opened. My loyalty, though, lies with Orangeleaf. In the words of my dear friend Jackie Kleban’s mother, Orangeleaf is the best froyo to ever exist…being from New York I think I have a lot of experience! It’ll be interesting to see how the rivalry progresses with the opening of Pinkberry (a little birdie told me that may be happening soon!)
8. Any words of wisdom for the current and entering freshman?
College is what you make it, so do everything you can while you can! My two and a half years have flown by so far, so don’t let ANY opportunity pass you by. Make sure to go into Boston, see Fenway, shop on Newbury, and take advantage of everything you can. Tufts is as fun as you make it.Â
