I Tried Innisfree’s Green Tea Welcome Pack

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tufts chapter.

Innisfree sent our chapter of Her Campus a welcome pack of their hydrating green tea products! I jumped at the chance to get some sweet free skincare goods, especially Korean skincare. It’s been getting popular in the mainstream lately, and it’s been interesting seeing all the little vials and unique ingredients that I was used to seeing cluttering the bathroom when I was a kid being fawned over on beauty sites. Skincare is a nice self-care ritual to start your day off on a positive note or to round off a long day, and it’s my personal substitute for makeup. Plus, it’s nice to not have to pay for shipping from halfway across the world.

The welcome pack came with four products: a face mask, serum, eye cream, and face cream, all with green tea seed!

Intensive Hydrating Serum:

The serum is a thin, clearish gel. There’s a faint fragrance, nothing specific but generally fresh and invigorating! It feels really moisturizing and it absorbs really quickly. Even using just a little, my face felt really hydrated, not like other serums I’ve tried where no matter how many times you apply it your skin gets dry a minute later and you have to slather on even more. It quickly got rid of the “tight” feeling that you get after washing your face.

Intensive Hydrating Eye Cream:

The eye cream is nice and thick. It feels heavier on the skin and sits on it longer than the serum before absorbing. It’s oilier than the serum, but not so much so that it’s greasy or too heavy – my skin can still breathe! It feels like it’s forming a protective barrier between my face and the air. Again, it feels really hydrating.

Intensive Hydrating Cream:

It smells nice and fresh, a mix of plants and olive oil. The cream’s basically somewhere in between the serum and the eye cream. It’s a bit thinner and more liquidy than the eye cream. It absorbs faster than the eye cream too, but slower than the serum. Since it’s for the whole face rather than just around the eyes, its thinner texture makes it easier to smooth on. It’s still a bit thick on the skin, and I could feel it locking in the serum. Definitely hydrating, and my skin felt rather soft afterwards!

My Real Squeeze Mask:

It looks and feels like a typical sheet mask – the more grainy/papery kind, not like the plasticky smooth ones. It was really cooling and refreshing (pro tip – if you want a super cooling mask, put it in the fridge for a bit before you use it!). The fragrance is really nice, like plants. It molds to your face super well; I could move around and even look directly downwards without it starting to peel off, which is nice for me because no matter how much I work on ~mindfulness~ I can’t make myself sit still and do nothing for ten to twenty minutes. There was a lot of fluid in the pouch, which is nice since that’s where all the magic is! Use the extra on your neck and hands to get everything you can out of the product. The mask left my skin feeling fresh and reinvigorated.
