Campus Celeb: Mia Marrazza

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tufts chapter.

Name: Mia Marrazza

Year: Sophomore

Major: Quantitative economics with a minor in math

Hometown: Bethesda, MD but I went to high school in Haddonfield, NJ

What are you involved with on campus?

Tour guiding, Alpha Phi, tutoring, Moral Voices, and I was on Support Staff for FOCUS this year!

What’s your favorite thing about being in FOCUS?

Definitely the people involved in the program! The students on staff are all such unique and fun individuals, and being able to share such a rewarding week with the incoming freshman as they started their new journey as Jumbos was something I’ll never forget!

What’s your favorite spot at Tufts?

Last year it was the Haskell 240s (love you, fam), and this year it’s the academic quad.

What do you love most about Tufts?

Definitely the sense of community and positive energy on campus.

What’s something you do at Tufts you didn’t think you would?

Rushing/joining a sorority. Most of my best girl friends didn’t rush so I went into the process without knowing much about it, but it worked out so incredibly well! I really couldn’t imagine Tufts without the girls I’ve met in APhi. (s/o to the #posterpham)

Most embarrassing moment?

I accidently lit a good chunk of my hair on fire in front of around 15 people my freshman year. Worst smell ever.

If you were a food, what would you be?

A strawberry

Guilty pleasure?

Double chocolate cookies in Carm with peanut butter

Pet peeve?

When people start their sentences with, “No offense, but…” since what they’re about to say is inevitably offensive. Also, Jake Moran.

Childhood fear?

Gollum from the Lord of the Rings movies

What’s something about you that most people don’t know? I used to be seriously obsessed with the Jonas Brothers from 7th-9th grade, and I met Selena Gomez in K-Mart once.
