With the beginning of fall came the most anticipated week for fashionistas, New York Fashion Week. Some people were excited to see the designs and models; I was excited to see what the bloggers are wearing. Google Chrome must be refreshed every 5 minutes and the two names that decorate my search bar are The Man Repeller and The Blonde Salad. Leandra Medine and Chiara Ferragni are blogging celebrities. Both style bloggers strutted their best looks on the streets of fashion week. Runway trends are aspirations that can be difficult to achieve, but bloggers create outfits that are attainable. I don’t have a thousand dollars to spend on Zac Posen shoes.  I’m lucky if I have some extra cash to go to Zara. Leandra and Chiara have transformed their wardrobes and paved the way for street style.

So what did these Internet stars wear while sitting front row?

For The Man Repeller a wrist complete with bracelets, jewels and the like was a necessity. After coining the term “arm party” all eyes were on her arms. The sisters of Dannijo are among her favorite designers and, no surprise, her wrists were complete with colour and eye-catching sparkle. Leandra also strutted two other very prominent trends: ripped jeans and white. You may be thinking, ripped jeans? Can someone really pull that off while sitting next to an A-lister? Well, Leandra did.

Her other fashion choice was white; I assume it was so she could show off her end-of-summer tan! Most of her outfits involved a white piece; the signature item was an oversized or loose button up. She glowed at every event and her fashion risks were well enjoyed; my favorite piece was undoubtedly the pink blazer.

She debuted her week with a perfect combination of risk and sophistication. Day 1, Chiara stepped on to the streets of one of the world’s fashion capitals with sleek pulled back hair and a chic white pantsuit. Her MSGM suit had a daringly low V-neck and she was able to spice it up even more with a gold-embellished leather bra.

Day 5, she let her inner rock and roll side out. She wore a Diesel Black Gold outfit. The studded black denim skirt caught light in a variety of ways and was extremely eye catching. This look was by far my personal favorite. The skirt was nicely contrasted with a jacket reminiscent of a blazer but one with leather sleeves that complemented the look. Chiara is constantly mixing different looks and creating an outfit that has a dash of edge, sophistication and elegance.

Her final look was a floral skirt, paired with black booties and a fedora. The bright skirt was toned down with an oversized black sweater that kept the look mature, but fun.

Next time match a cute blazer with a pair of ripped jeans and catch the eye of your latest crush. Or wear and oversized white shirt and repel some men, like Leandra!
