It is very hard to beat the original version of songs. The following ten songs are covers that were done by all different types of people. In no particular order, here is my list of the top ten YouTube covers:

 

1.      Say Something by Alex and Sierra

Alex and Sierra, who were two contestants of the popular reality TV show The X Factor in 2013, covered this song originally sung by A Great Big World. They do a beautiful rendition of the already beautiful song!  Listen to Say Something by Alex and Sierra here.

 

2.      Hey Ho by Lennon and Maisy

These two young Canadian girls were recruited to the television series Nashville because of their YouTube channel. Their version of Hey Ho, originally by The Lumineers, is great! Take a look at it here:

 

3.      Let it Go by Lexi Walker and Alex Boye

The latest Disney movie Frozen had the privilege of having the incredible Idina Menzel be one of the vocalists for the movie. Eleven-year-old Lexi Walker gives Menzel a run for her money with this cover. Take a look:

 

4.      XO by Nikki Yanofsky

Nikki Yanofsky did an unbelievable job in her version of Beyonce’s XO. Who knew that someone could outshine Queen B? Listen to it here.

 

 

5.      No Diggity/Thrift Shop by Ed Sheeran and Passenger

Two amazing artisits Ed Sheeran and Passenger do a very cool cover/mashup of No Diggity and Thrift Shop! Check it out.

 

6.      The Boxer by Mumford and Sons

Mumford and Sons did an incredible cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s The Boxer. Take a listen to this beauty.

 

7.      Man in the Mirror by James Morrison

Michael Jackson’s insanely popular song Man in the Mirror is such a beautiful song. James Morrison did an amazingly great cover of it! Check it out:

 

 

8.      Skinny Love by Birdy

The song Skinny Love, originally by Bon Iver, covered by the wonderful Birdy is awesome.

 

9.      Wonderwall by Ryan Adams

10.  No Scrubs by Bastille

This 90’s hit originally by TLC covered by Bastille is surprisingly amazing

 

 

Honorable mention goes to Joseph-Gordon Levitt for his cover of the Ignition Remix because he’s adorable and his song choice is impeccable.
