December is officially here! Tis the season for holiday parties and formals, giving us the perfect excuse to dress up classy and festive! As fun as that sounds, you might be starting to think, well… what should I wear?! Fear no more. Here is your guide to what to wear to formals this holiday season!

Dress

The holidays are the perfect time to wear a lacy, shimmery or dark colored dress. But, if your sick of wearing dresses, there’s no harm in wearing a cute jumpsuit or romper either! All of the styles above can be found at revolve.com

Shoes

Nothing looks more flattering than a nice pair of heels! To match whatever outfit you wear, go for a nude or black heel. You can’t go wrong with neutral colors! The nude shoes above can be found at lulus.com and the black booties from Modcloth.com

Jewelry

Accessorize your outfit with simple or statement jewelry. Try wearing big earrings, gold bracelets or a simple necklace to pull your outfit together. Baublebar and J. Crew always have cute, simple jewelry that is perfect for these occasions.

Make up

This winter, try wearing red lips, rosy, blushed cheeks or dark, bold eye to top off your look!

Nails

Now that its winter, it’s finally time to try out those dark, bold nail colors. Dark reds, navy blues, and forest greens are popular colors this winter! Above we have pictured clockwise from the top: garnet, navy, grey, purple, smoky plum, light peony, teal, and midnight blue. Currently, I have essie’s “midnight cami” on, and am in love the dark navy color!

Hair

The cold, unpredictable winter is a nightmare for hair. To battle the freezing weather, try wearing your hair down (honestly, it’ll keep you warmer)! Go for either a sleek, straightened look, or bouncy waves. You can even pin your hair back, for an easy, yet put together look, or add in a braid to pull your hair out of your face!
