Are you ready to update your wardrobe and try some new spring trends? Take a peek at these weather-ready ideas and give them a shot.

Crop Tops + Skirts / High-Waisted Shorts:

Sure, ‘crop tops’ may not want to be the first phrase you hear after realizing bears and squirrels haven’t been the only ones building up a little body fat to keep warm this winter, but as the lists of spring trends keep surfacing, these baby blouses have proved to secure a stable position. Pair them with high-waisted shorts or skirts that help to showoff your waistline. To make it all a little more conducive to nearly freezing weather, throw on a leather jacket up top and, for the bottom, you can either go with the timeless but obvious and pair them with sheer hose or try something a little more edgy like over-the-knee boots.

Joggers:

Really not sure why these puppies have only just now found themselves in the hands of the haute… But thank god they have because trendy has never been so comfortable. I mean they’re basically sweatpants that still manage to give you shape AND define your backside. There are more laidback styles in a cotton or a rayon that can be paired with a casual or bossy sneak, and there are dressier styles in a leather or silk which easily compliment a flat, an ankle boot, or heel. Either way, this a trend to take advantage of ASAP because who knows the next time activewear will be declared daywear.

The White Collar:

While a white collared dress shirt has certainly never been deemed passé or formally recognized as “untrendy,” it also hasn’t exactly been considered ‘in vogue’– that is until now. Though warmer weather begs it to be worn uncovered, colder weather allows it to be the perfect primary piece with which to layer. Start with a men’s oxford, complete with white collar à la Gordan Gekko, and add a little extra warmth with a baggy, crew-neck sweater. Tug the white sleeves over those of the sweater, and pull the white collar out so that it’s just peeking over the sweater’s neck. Make sure the shirt tails are hanging out for a cool, relaxed look and try to keep both the colors of your sweater and pants to a minimum (all black is usually preferable).

The Leather Back Pack:

The great thing about accessories is that the temperature theoretically poses absolutely no threat to them. So while the backpack may be the new it bag of the Spring, it can also be the new it bag of right now. From Stella McCartney, to Alexander Wang, to 3.1 Phillip Lim, etc., the couture carry all seemed to be a rather popular focus in the spring lines of some of the most relevant designers of late. Dont want to commit to a luxury pack? Try checking out the selections at NastyGal, TopShop, or ASOS.
