The semester is coming to an end and we all need to release a little stress. For my stress-free weekend I decided to have a simple, last minute Christmas Party in my apartment. Here are a few tips to throw together a last minute shindig that will help bring joy to friends over the holiday season. (Note: These tips can be used for any type of holiday/last minute get together.):

Tip 1:
Pick a date and send out invitations. In today’s society is so easy to get the word around. A simple Facebook event, tweet or text is a sure way to get the word out.

Tip 2:
Grab some decorations. Décor at any party can be a great way to add a little spice to the event. The Dollar Store is a great place to find nice yet inexpensive decorations. My roommate and I spent about $20 all together for our decorations and we got plenty of compliments.

Tip 3:
You can’t forget refreshments! Holiday cookies and some punch or juice will be a good way to keep everyone energized and in the party mood.

Tip 4:
Get festive! Be sure to wear colors that apply to the theme of your party. My roommate and I wore red for our Christmas party. I even added gift bows to our headbands so we were pretty little presents!

Last but not least…Tip 5:
Enjoy yourself! Nobody wants to party with a Debbie Downer so let all your stress go and have fun with your friends.
