You may have remembered last semester when we profiled junior criminal justice major, Nick Caroselli, for our Campus Cutie feature. Well, when we heard that Nick, 21, had a new music video coming out, we wanted to get the inside scoop about his music, inspiration, and of course the ground breaking question: boxers or briefs?

Nick Caroselli, still a cutie!

How long have you been making music?

I’ve been playing guitar for about 10 years and I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember! But when it comes to writing my own music, I started in about 7th or 8th grade, so around 8 years.

Are there any particular artists you look up to?

A couple artists that inspire me would have to be Dashboard Confessional and Brand New. I’ve been a huge fan of them since middle school, and it hasn’t changed!

Why do you love music?

Music has always been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mom used to sing when she was young, and still sings around the house. I guess I just inherited a love for music from her. I got my first guitar for my birthday when I was 11 and the rest is history!

Do you want to pursue music professionally?

I would LOVE to play music professionally. I went to see Dashboard Confessional last year at Recher, and the whole crowd was singing along to every song. If I could travel around the world playing music, and hear the crowd singing my lyrics, it would be perfect. But realistically, I probably won’t get famous from my music, but I love writing and I love knowing that people enjoy hearing what I write, so I’m not going to stop anytime soon.

What’s your favorite Towson memory?

There are so many great memories at Towson, but the first one that comes to mind is my first day living on-campus my freshman year. Me and my roommate went to Seasons Pizza and we had to run back in a rainstorm. The campus power went out when we were running back, and we were wandering around the campus, not knowing where we were, in the pouring rain. I know it doesn’t sound like a great memory, but it was the feeling of being at college for the first time and living on my own. It’s just a really fond memory..

What advice do you have for any Towson students interested in music?

If you love playing, play! You don’t have to be the greatest singer or musician, if you enjoy doing it, don’t stop. Practice makes perfect, anyway, right?

If you could meet any celebrity dead or alive Who would it be?

Chris Carrabba!

What is your favorite Nickelodeon show?

Kenan and Kel, duh!

And finally, boxers or briefs?

Boxerbriefs…

You can view the Nick’s new music video, If You Ask Me, right here on Her Campus Towson! Also, he has a Myspace. How retro and 2004 is that? We love it!
