Ode to Coffee
It’s brewing is a
soothing whistle.
A calling card
for happy times.
Heat gracefully dances
off its surface,
as the creamer swirls
in, keeping its delicate
whiteness before blending
with the black.
I blow on the steam as
the bliss hits
my lips the
by-product of
earthy brown beans
trickle down my
throat before landing
in my stomach.
Making me feel full.
Making me feel fulfilled.
