Making the Best of Your Spring Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Towson chapter.

It’s spring semester and finals are a little over a month away. If you are anything like me, you may have struggled in a class or two this semester. Let’s make sure you finish out the semester strong! Here are some tips to make sure you finish strong and get the marks you need.

  1. Communicate with your professor.

In all of my classes, I have made an effort to make sure my professors know my name and I established some type of relationship with them. Professors are there to help you. I have seen that first hand this semester. I wasn’t doing well in Introduction to Philosophy and my professor reached out to me and offered extra credit to make sure I got my grade back up to where it was. Make sure you make an effort to want to do well in the class.

  1. Find a good place to study.

You can go to the library or find a quiet place in your dorm such as your common room or common lounge. Every time you enter the library, your mind will shift into work mode and stay there until you decide to leave. Schedule library time between classes while you’re already on campus.

  1. Manage your time better

Make time for the things you have to do each day. Plan out what you can do each day to make sure you get your work done over time.

  1. Create a study group

Find people in your class who are trying to do as well as you. Maybe they’ll be able to help you do well in the class and then you can all help each other.

  1. Prioritize

Make sure that you do the most important things first. Whether it is starting a ten page paper or studying for a test you have the next day, make sure you do what is the most important.

Hopefully these tips could help you do as well in the spring semester as you want to!
