Country Music Star Chuck Wicks on boxers or briefs (Plus a recap of the concert!)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Towson chapter.

This past Friday night, CAB held their annual country concert in Paws and this year the headliner was none other than country music star Chuck Wicks!

Here’s a brief bio of Chuck for those of you who aren’t familiar with the country crooner (although I think you’ll want to be very familiar with him after you read this!)

Chuck grew up on a potato farm in Smyrna, Delaware. Then he went to college in Florida and discovered his true passion, singing and songwriting. He moved to Nashville and appeared on the reality show Nashville for two episodes before it was cancelled. Then he landed a recording contract with RCA Records. He released his breakout hit “Stealing Cinderella” in 2007 and from there quickly became a household name in country music.

In 2008, he dated actress and dancer Julianne Hough, who was his partner on Dancing With The Stars season eight. He’s spent the last couple of years touring all over the country and recording new music for his sophomore album (which has not been released yet). If you enjoy hunting, you might have seen Chuck on the Outdoor Channel  where he can regularly be seen on Addicted to the Outdoors popping deer

Chuck was even named one of MSN’s Most Eligible Bachelor’s in 2010 (on a list that included Prince Harry) which is probably because he is insanely attractive.

Alright, now that we are all on the same page, let’s go back to the concert!

Chuck opened with his hit, “All I Ever Wanted” and the crowd went WILD! Seriously, I don’t think I’ve seen Paws that crazy since they rolled out the chicken salad wrap.

His set was over a good hour, not bad for a free concert! He performed all of his standbys including “Stealing Cinderella” and the more sensual tune, “Hold That Thought.”  Not gonna lie, our Campus Cutie Editor Caitlin and I were holding THAT thought because he was so hot singing that song. My blood pressure was rising!

Here’s a picture from the show!

You can also listen to “Hold That Thought” with your significant other (or just by yourself, hey whatever works!) on YouTube!

After the show, Chuck met with every single one of his fans who came to the show and wanted to meet him. He signed autographs, took pictures, and even agreed to be in a video of a couple of fans who were entering the Ellen DeGeneres shows Dance Dare Competition (Check it out on Youtube too, Hilarious!)

We asked Chuck if he’d be willing to do an interview with us and he graciously agreed too! It was great.

Chuck Wicks  and Campus Cutie Editor Caitlin Long. Wouldn’t they make cute babies?

We asked Chuck the hard questions, like you know, what’s the closest he’s ever been to getting arrested and if he prefers boxers or briefs (the answer may surprise you!). Check out the video below. Sorry for the not-so-great audio, we’re not exactly CMT or something. I also transcribed the interview if you have trouble hearing.

Ali: Hi I’m Ali Pannoni here for Her Campus and we are with Chuck Wicks today.

So, we noticed you have very nice hair, we were wondering if you use anything to make it look like that, any products?

Chuck Wicks: I use whatever I can find. Does that make sense? I’m a total guy so I don’t really know or try to find products. But have you heard of the Aveda products? I have some of them.

Ali: Oh, thats kind of fancy!

CW: Yeah, that is kind of fancy.

Ali: Ok, so, what’s the closest you’ve ever been to getting arrested?

CW: Oh. Arrested. I don’t know no… no, I’ve never been arrested.

Ali: Oh, well that’s good!

CW: I’ve been fake arrested before. Like doing a prank.

Ali: Can you tell us about that?

CW: Yeah, I was playing a fair/festival deal one time. And they said we weren’t suppose to be drinking on the fairgrounds and of course we were drinking on the fairgrounds. So they arrested me and I thought that it was real. It’s not fun. Even being fake arrested is not fun. It was funny afterwards. Cheers!

Ali: So if you could meet any celebrity living or dead, who would you meet?

CW: Um, well probably not anybody living because, you know, you are bound to run into a lot of people in the music business and stuff like that. But you know, I’d love to sit down with Elvis Presley, I think that would be fun. More so party with him. Uh, There’s a ton of people. I would have loved to have been friends with the Beatles, when they were like on fire. Like the entire group the Beatles. So I think that would have been fun like in their heyday, but their heyday is like everyday so…

Ali: And finally, what is your favorite song of all time?

CW: All time? You know I always say the same answer usually, I Will Always Love You by Dolly Parton. Everyone kind of knows it. That’s one song I wish I actually written. It’s a good song.

That’s it?

Caitlin (behind the camera): Actually, I have a question. Boxers or Briefs?

CW: Well, it depends on the pants I am wearing, like if they are really tight, I go commando. Because I can’t… Is that too much? But I would say boxers.

Ali & Caitlin: Thanks so much!

CW: You got it!

There ya have it folks! Now go listen to “Hold That Thought” on YouTube and tell us you don’t fall in love! And Thank you again Chuck Wicks! Don’t forget to follow him on Twitter.
