Valentine’s Day may be a day where couples parade around and make you sick, but who says you have to be alone? Here are a few ideas on how you can spend your Valentine’s Day without a special someone.

Go out to with a few friends

I’m pretty sure you aren’t the only person who doesn’t have a valentine. Go to a nice dinner or movie with your friends to show that you appreciate their company. Whether you dine at the Cheesecake Factory or go to a movie, it is sure to be a good time.

Pamper yourself

There’s nothing like taking time out to make sure you feel good. Whether you get your hair and nails done, go to a spa or treat yourself to a cute dress, there is nothing like spending a little money on yourself.

Volunteer to Babysit

No use in moping. Spend this time giving back. Find a couple that needs sometime away from their children. Many people have a hard time finding someone to watch their children while they go out to dinner. You can even charge more than normal babysitting prices because of the romantic holiday. Check Hire@TU.com for couples in need of babysitters and who knows it might even turn into a part-time job.

Visit a nursing home

A lot of these people have lost spouses or don’t have any one to pamper them so why not? This is another way to give back. Stopping by with flowers may brighten their day no matter if they know you or not

Participate in Campus Activities

There is ALWAYS something to do on campus so explore and research what others are doing on campus and how you can get involved. You might meet someone to spend next year’s Valentine’s Day with.
