It’s that time of year when every student is so stressed with school and the piles of work feel endless. Your professors have assigned an impossible number of readings and you have an assignment due every day of the week.

It’s so easy to feel overwhelmed, stressed and anxious. Especially when school is online and you aren’t even leaving your bedroom to go to class.

One way to take a study break and de-stress is to go for a stroll through a nearby park. It may seem simple, or like a waste of time, but getting out in nature is one of the best ways to re-set.

Plus, there is no more beautiful time of year than fall. The air is cool and crisp and the leaves are vibrant shades of red and yellow. Breathe in the fresh air, breathe out the stress.

Although Toronto isn’t typically known for its parks, it has tons of green space, and the colours of fall amidst the backdrop of the city skyline will leave you breathless. Here are five parks to visit in Toronto this fall:

Trinity Bellwoods

Perhaps one of the most well-known parks in the city, Trinity Bellwoods, is located in between Queen Street West and Dundas Street West. There are tons of walking paths lined with towering and the CN Tower can be seen when looking east. Grab a coffee from one of the many trendy cafes that surround the park and enjoy the fresh air.

High Park

A little bit further west is High Park, a heaven for runners, bikers and nature lovers. If you want a true escape from the hustle and bustle, High Park is the place to go. Over one-third of the park remains in a natural state. There are tons of ponds, wildlife and trails. At this time of year, the views are incredible.

Tommy Thompson Park

A hidden gem, Tommy Thompson is quite a bit further out of the city. Located past Cherry Beach in Toronto’s East end, Tommy Thompson has one of the best views of the Toronto skyline. Surrounded by Lake Ontario, and with miles of paths this park is a great place for a bike ride.

Queen’s Park

Queen’s Park is located closer to the downtown core, and is also home to the Ontario Legislative Building. The trees are grand and there are quite a few walking paths. It is the perfect place for a study break, especially considering its proximity to campus.

Riverdale Park

Like Tommy Thompson, Riverdale Park offers a breathtaking view of the Toronto skyline, and is a very popular spot for watching the sunset. Located along Broadview Ave, Riverdale has tons of cafes and restaurants within walking distance.

Get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and explore the city while you’re at it!
