In honour of my birthday last month, I decided to look around campus to see if I could get the most out of all the birthday freebie promotions in Toronto. But we all know Sephora and Starbucks gift free treats for their members, so what about other places specifically located close campus/Sankofa Square?
Getting stuff for free is hard to come by these days, so if you’re like me, and love a good freebie, check out the list below.

If you love Asian skincare make sure you visit Sukoshi at the Eaton Centre. Located on the first floor, you will receive a free gift when you buy one item at any point during your birthday month. Make sure you sign up for their rewards program before hand to qualify.

If you want even more skincare, make your way over to the third floor on the Eaton Centre and find Kiehl’s to pickup their promotion. Once signed up for Kiehl’s Rewards, you’ll receive a free gift.

Calling all ice cream lovers, iHalo Krunch offers a free ice cream cone on your birthday with ID. Roughly 25 mins away on transit, you’ll enjoy their Asian inspired flavours and funky coloured treats.
*Apologies to the winter babies, but as of right now iHalo locations are temporarily closed, probably due to weather. If you’re a summer baby, definitely check out this place when it reopens.

If you’re not too big on ice cream or if you’ve got a really big sweet tooth, you got to visit the Lindt store on the second floor of the Eaton Centre. On the day of your birthday you can get a free 150g bag of chocolate, but you must be signed up for their rewards program at least one day before.

Just a five minute walk away from Sankofa Square, you can take a slight detour on your way to class if you’re a Cha Time rewards member. On your birthday, you will receive a free drink!

If you love sushi, then Toro Toro would make a great birthday lunch or dinner celebration. Just a 10 minute subway ride away, you can can get a free maki role. Just make sure you are signed up for their rewards at least seven days before your birthday to qualify.
