Listen, I know that for the last few weeks, every Swiftie has watched more football than ever before. For those of you who are just learning about the most attractive man in the NFL, Travis Kelce, let me give you a quick rundown on who he is.
Travis Michael Kelce was born October 5th, 1989, in West Lake, Ohio. He has an older brother, Jason Kelce, who plays center for the Philadelphia Eagles. Why is his brother important? Travis has credited his brother for his career in football. When Travis was in college, he was actually kicked off of his football team for breaking some rules. Jason, who happened to go to the same school, allowed him to move into his one-bed apartment and helped him get it together. Jason went to their coach and begged him to give his little brother a second chance. Sure enough, he did and Travis Kelce went on to be drafted as a tight end by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013.
He’s been an NFL player for a decade now and has played in over 140 games in the span of his career. Travis has helped his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, win 2 Super Bowl games. He caught touchdowns in both the 2020 and the 2023 Super Bowl.
Travis and his brother host a podcast called New Heights, totally check it out, and this is where the Taylor of it all comes into play. In an episode that aired a few months ago, Travis mentioned that he wanted to slip a friendship bracelet to Taylor that had his number on it. Unfortunately, he was unable to meet her so he decided to send a message to her. He wanted Taylor to come to see him play at the same stadium that he had watched her perform at just weeks ago.
On September, 17th, Taylor Swift was actually spotted at the Chiefs game. People lost their minds. She was spotted cheering and spending time with Travis’ mother, Donna Kelce. After the game, Taylor and Travis were seen driving off, in what some have dubbed, “the real-life getaway car”. It was shocking.
As much as I love this new relationship, I hate to think that now anytime Travis is on the field, some sports commentator is going to make a million Taylor comments to try and appease her fanbase. It already started happening and while I get why, we need to remember that Travis Kelce has been at this for a decade. He was a star in his own right before Taylor. Hopefully, we don’t have to think of it after, but if that may be the case, Travis will be just fine. He is probably one of the best tight ends in the league.
