Timeless, Fiery Classical Pieces for the Non-Classical Listener
- Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, 3rd movement – possibly one of the most triumphant sounding endings to a piece that exists. It just exudes a sense of victory and happiness and FUN that some may not expect classical to have the capacity to convey.
- Sibelius Violin Concerto, 3rd Movement – this movement, with a building intensity, is one of my favorite parts of the concerto. It has its fiery moments as well as lucid ones.
- “Winter Wind” or Etudes Op.25 No.11 by Chopin – a stormy, fast-paced piece with an air of conflict about it.
- Ysaye Sonata No. 3 – skip to 5:51 for the most iconic part of this piece, which is sometimes likened to a boxing match.
