Table for Two: Best Restaurants for Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Texas chapter.

Y’know the old saying: “the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach”? That’s why it’s crucial to find the perfect restaurant spot for your Valentine’s Day date. We’ve got our top six places to help you when making this important decision!

The Oasis

So if you and your bae haven’t gone on a date at The Oasis yet, I’m thinking Valentines Day is the perfect time to test it out. It is right on Lake Travis with a gorgeous view of the water and the nice homes on the lake! The landscaping and architecture of the place are also stunning. Needless to say, the atmosphere of the place itself is worth the date! Plus, if you can make it there for sunset your V-Day dinner at The Oasis will be complete!

Hula Hut

The atmosphere here is definitely a little less romantic but if you and your boo thang are looking to try some new, delicious food on V-Day I think Hula Hut is the place to be. The food is what I like to call a Mexican-Hawaiian fusion and I love it! Plus there is also a really wonderful lake view and great drinks! If you live in Austin and haven’t been here you must make the trip whether it’s for Valentine’s Day or just a normal Friday night!

Kenichi

Downtown Austin sushi is done best at Kenichi!  The ambience is very nice for an intimate and romantic evening, which is what many couples look for on Valentines Day right? Plus, if you’re a sushi fan Kenichi really is one of the best places in town! Not to mention that while it isn’t cheap it is still pretty decently priced compared to some of the other quality sushi restaurants in town!

III Forks

Are you and your significant other true Texan carnivores craving some good ol’ steak for your Valentines Day? If so, I’d definitely go with another popular downtown Austin pick, III Forks. Needless to say, III Forks ain’t no Texas Roadhouse. It is a quality dining experience. Though, it is a little pricey so you may want to check your budget before you make your reservation!

Violet Crown Cinema

So if you and your significant other are movie junkies or have simply really been aching to see a movie that recently hit theatres the Violet Crown Cinema is a totally acceptable and fun way to spend your V-Day night. The Violet Crown is kind like the Alamo Drafthouse (in that they both provide new releases on the big screen and dinner/drinks) but the atmosphere is a bit fancier. At Violet Crown you’ll definitely feel like you and your man are doing something special instead of it just spending another night at the movies. Look forward to cuddling in the big, comfy reclining chairs while enjoying a glass of wine and movie. Sounds like the perfect Valentines Day to me.

Top Golf

Yes, this is another unconventional V-Day choice but there’s pretty good food and Top Golf is always tons of fun. Plus, you don’t need any prior golfing experience to have a good time. You pay an hourly rate and you can enjoy dinner and drinks while gettin’ your golf on. Plus, if your date knows how to golf he can always teach you, right? And that’s always cute and romantic, isn’t it? Romantic comedies don’t lie!
