Matcha green tea is a tea powder made from green tea leaves. The Chinese were the first to grind matcha green tea. However, the Japanese were the ones who invented the method of matcha preparation that we use today. Matcha has been linked with a variety of health benefits and can be easily prepared in many different ways.

How to Prepare a Matcha Latte

  1. Scoop the desired amount of matcha onto a strainer/sieve to prevent lumps from forming.

  2. Add hot water to your cup, water just under a boil is an ideal temperature.

  3. Whisk vigorously in a zigzag motion – a bamboo whisk is ideal for this.

  4. Enjoy your matcha tea straight from the cup or pour the matcha in warm, frothy milk.
