Dancers Shape: Can Deer Ride Bicycles “Fast?”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Texas chapter.

This is a sponsored post as part of the “Fit for Summer” Challenge, presented by Dancers Shape and Her Campus Texas.

Hello lovely readers! I’ve only had two weeks of barre classes, and I’m already doing some tip-toed kicks in my sleep. Just kidding. I do, however, feel addicted to being totally stretched and refreshed after class, and I even find myself sitting up straighter! Also, one of my friends thinks that I prance like a deer when I’m running (rude), so I’m sure my form is improving. Pretty sweet. It’s also fun doing sassy hip circles with smiling dancers, including the owner Jennifer, who is a former Rockette! Wink.

What surprised me is that I’m really into morning classes, which is odd because I wasn’t really a morning person before. They give me a ton of energy for the day and put me in a fantastic mood! This might also be because I’ve been Daniel fasting this month until Easter, so I’m abstaining from certain foods (ask me about it!). I guess you could say it’s been pretty cleansing health-wise, but more importantly, it’s been teaching me what I do and don’t “Need” daily. I do miss my favorite foods though: an awesome cheeseburger (à la the Magic Shroom at Hopdoddy or my friend P. Terry’s cheeseburger), fries and chips (my favorite food groups!), and my man Dr. Pepper. I also tried popping fresh popcorn from a friend, which is bomb-tastic because there’s no preserved butter that stinks up your kitchen, but instead some zesty lemon juice and salt. Feeling daring?

As for riding to classes, I have to admit: I haven’t done it yet! I did bike to Central Market for fun on this past lovely Saturday to stock up on some healthy goodness, though. Since this is already halfway there, I’m looking forward to zipping to Dancer’s Shape this week on two wheels. Where are your favorite places to bike to, readers? I’ll try to include some biking pictures next time!
