Name: Blake O’Hara
Major: Chemical Engineering
Year: Freshman (1st year)

Blake is from Cypress, Texas, a suburb of Houston.  He went to Cy-Fair high school in the very competitive Cy-Fair ISD.  As a high school student he was very involved, and as a freshman he has already started to repeat his ways of involvement by taking part in a diverse group of activities.

HC Texas: What activities are you involved in at UT?
W: Longhorn Band (he plays French horn), Intramural Soccer, Intramural Volleyball, Intramural Softball, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Longhorn American Indian Council.

HC Texas: What are you plans for the next four years at UT?
W: Triple major in chemical engineering, business honors program, and finance, and make a difference because what starts here changes the world.

HC Texas: Why do you want to triple major in those three areas?
W: Because I wanted to get a degree in chemical engineering and you can’t go wrong with a business background.

HC Texas: So where do you see yourself in ten years?
W: I don’t have a clue.

HC Texas: What does being in the band mean to you?
W: Being a part of a second family where the members all share a love for music.

HC Texas: Your activities are diverse. How and why did you pick all of them?
W: Because they all represent a part of who I am and allow me to express my talents, beliefs, and passion.

HC Texas: Is there anything else you would like to add?
W: To my fellow freshmen: Don’t’ be too shy or afraid to branch out and look for representations that represent yourself. It’s 11:11 p.m. and OU still sucks!
