This week I would like to challenge you to my seven days of self care challenge! These are all super easy and doable ways to love yourself and I hope you enjoy them :)

Now let’s kick it off….

Monday: Create A Sticky Note Wall

I LOVED doing this. One day I was having a really rough day and I saw my friend make a sticky note collage around her mirror. It was gorgeous! She had pastel sticky notes and thoughtful colorful words scrawled on them for herself to enjoy and I just knew I HAD to do it myself! It is super easy because all you need are sticky notes and some colorful pens. You can do as many or as few as you like and put them up wherever you would encounter them the most. The whole process gave me something to focus on while I relaxed after the long day. Now when I am having a terrible day, I come home with wonderful compliments and words of encouragement which makes the day feel a lot less bad. 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!

Tuesday: Call Someone You Hold Dear

I know families can be weird and complicated so we can’t always reach out to our “parents,” but think of someone, anyone, and call them. You can ask them about themselves or you can ask if you can lean on them. Some of my best and most needed breakdowns were over the phone and it helped me to process my emotions and move on from them. However, when it didn’t cure the sadness, I was reminded about how much I was loved and cared for when I had an amazing person just sitting there listening to me vent. I have also experienced extreme joy on these random calls because it is normally when my friends and I spill the hottest tea you will ever spill. I have also found out some unimportant information I should never hear out of my mother’s mouth, but hey it’s life. Nevertheless, These convos remind me I am still young and have so much to experience and all the twists and turns life may take me. So don’t be afraid to call someone. Worst-case scenario is that they don’t answer.

Wednesday: Create A Love Jar

This is simple enough. You can type up or write down on a piece of paper things you love about yourself, funny memories, or words of encouragement. Then you would cut each one out and fold the paper then simply put it in a jar. Taking the time to think of things you love about yourself or really good memories will help you manifest into a better you and remind you that you don’t need anyone’s opinion but your own. Not only do you get the benefits of making it, but you will also get the benefit of opening them when you are feeling down. It also doubles as a potential gift idea for my lovebirds out there. This reminds me, anything you are willing to do for your partner, you should be willing to do for yourself!

Thursday: Social Detox

I know this is scary, but you can do it! I honestly love a day of social detox because it reminds me I am not alone and gives me the opportunity to truly focus on my work and myself. We get slightly too consumed in our devices and this detox is short enough that you won’t miss anything important, but also long enough that when you get back to Instagram or Snapchat you can see the notifications of people that are trying to reach out to you because they care. All in all, you will have so much more time to actually get work done since the due date is right around the corner so try it out…I dare you :)

Friday: Photoshoot

If you’re going out for the night or just staying in for the day this is a perfect time for you to get dolled up and take some pics. I love opportunities where I get to dress up and this is your excuse to do it too! It can be as fancy or chilled out as you like, the importance is that you feel great in your own skin! I took a photo shoot today as I am writing this and I felt so confident and good about myself. All I did was prop up my phone on my backpack and set the timer. I didn’t need a dress or a fancy spot, just a little patience and love for myself (maybe also some decent lighting). It was so fun to take pictures and remind myself to love myself no matter what I was in or what day it was! The best part is you can choose to post them or not, the choice is yours. However, if you haven’t posted in a while it may be a nice addition to the gram. Peep the final product below :) and SLAYYYYY MY BEAUTIESSSS!!!

Saturday: Clean Your Room

If you didn’t party Friday, I’m 90% sure you will today so clean your room! All my beauties who decide to stay in and study, this goes for you too! If you’ve been procrastinating cleaning your room, this is your daily dose of GO DO IT (please)! Trust me, your life will feel a little less chaotic when you do. I am one of those people where if my room is a mess my life is coincidentally a mess. So manifest babes and clean your room for a clean life. Also, if you do it now you won’t have to worry about it for the rest of the weekend and you’ll have a clean place to relax after a night of partying or a chill place to come to after studying. Plus, for my dancing queens out there…I’ve been there and you do not want to walk home from a night on the town to a messy room where there are many tripping hazards. Stay safe my loves! <3

Sunday: Make Yourself Breakfast

It’s been a long week and I know it has. With midterms, social stuff, and homework I am sure you are exhausted so please take this morning of all mornings to take care of yourself. Make some eggs and pancakes or a bagel or a full five-course breakfast meal, but do it for yourself. Romanticize putting together your food for yourself. Enjoy every bite of the food you are nurturing your body with. Relax. If you haven’t had any peace all day…this is your time.

As always thank you for reading my article and I hope to chat with you again :)
