I’m a 2001 baby. Tragically, I had access to the Internet in my emo phase. I was a fourth grader, a frequent Tumblr user and a devout thigh-high Converse enthusiast. We often laugh at the flashiness of early 2000’s fashion, but the time for reflecting on a decade as stylistically confusing as the 2010s is overdue. I’ve thoroughly checked my archived Instagram posts to determine our dimmest fashion moments, but I’m aware that fashion is entirely abstract. Ultimately, the only opinion that matters when it comes to what you put on your body is your own. It’s fun to laugh at outfit choices that I’ve made and regret, but I encourage everyone to do the same! As we usher in a new era, it’s time for us to have that talk on who decided that some of these looks were okay.

I don’t know what it was about these leggings and infinity sign t-shirts, but 13-year-old me insisted that wearing them made me a rom-com heroine on her way to go meet the love of her life.
