1.       One of the world’s most impactful and influential leaders, Nelson Mandela, passed away on December 5, 2013.

2.       Fast and Furious star Paul Walker died in a car crash last Saturday afternoon. High speeds were reportedly the cause of the crash. Walker was in the midst of filming the 7th installation of the movie franchise.

3.       An ice storm the size of California hit the South Central states from Texas to Kentucky as one of the worst in history. 116 injuries have been reported.  

4.       Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz and Quvenzhane Wallis filmed for Annie with Temple’s marching band on Monday, December 2! 

5.       In other, less joyous Temple news, the university’s athletics department announced yesterday the cutting of seven sports (two female, 5 male). Athletes found out the morning of the announcement and the sports teams are set to be cut after the spring season.
