You might just be waking up from Tryptophan overload, so we got the scoop on all the big things you missed out on this Thanksgiving break.Â
1. On Friday, a Scottish police helicopter crashed into a pub in central Glasgow, leaving eight people dead.
2. In the midst of Black Friday craziness, shoppers got violent over discounted Wal-Mart towels. Getting feisty for a flat-screen TV might be somewhat understandable, but…towels? Really?
3. Philly wasn’t immune to the shopping gone amok: Two women and three men erupted into a physical altercation at the Franklin Mills Mall on Friday, with one of the women even pulling out a Taser during the fight.
4. Eighty five-year-old Merrill Newman, a U.S. detainee in North Korea, confessed to the deaths of North Korean soldiers during the Korean War in the early 1950s. Newman’s statement was broadcasted on Pyongang state media. There is no word yet on whether or not Newman will be released without “formal legal proceedings.”
5. Â Demonstrations protesting against the Thai government continue to escalate in Bangkok. A recent rally in the nation’s capital has left many wounded and at least one person dead.
