Bummed that you can’t go somewhere warm and tropical during spring break? Don’t fret! There are lots of places in the city of Brotherly Love to explore for fun day trips!
Vicki Jolly, a freshman, South Philadelphia native said, “If you’re stuck in Philly, don’t fret! You can go out to dinner with friends or check out the Kimmel Center for a show!”
If music is your thing, you should also check out a concert at the Theater of Living Arts on South Street after dinner and shopping, but if you’re a history buff, exploring the sites of Old City on a sunny day will do your brain and lungs good.

The Van Gogh exhibit is one of many you can choose from. Started on January 28th and running until April 15th, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts presents Henry Ossawa Tanner: Modern Spirit, a traveling exhibition curated the staff of the Academy.
Check out the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia, starting March 4th, locat
ed at the Japanese Tea House and Garden, where you can see the pink blossoms of cherry trees and all things Japanese. Most events are free, and there are activities available for people of all ages.
If you’re 21 or older, the Philadelphia night life is great, full of plenty restaurants and bars that are sure to guarantee a good night.
Check out the Philadelphia International Flower Show, the world’s largest indoor flower show, running from March 4th to March 11th. The show is located at the Philadelphia Convention Center, and visitors will witness a Hawaiian paradise filled with 25-foot waterfalls and agiant wave of orchids.
And, when in doubt, there’s always Pat’s and Geno’s for a late night cheesesteak!
