As a Libra myself I may be a little biased towards Libra season, but it really is a time for perfecting that work-life balance and experiencing growth in relationships. Libras are known for their patience, appreciation of beauty, and charm. This year, Libra season began on September 22 and continues until October 22. There are a few troubling astrological events happening over the next few months (namely the Mars and Mercury Retrograde that will blindside us all), but there’s no better time to tackle these obstacles than during Libra season. In celebration of what is inarguably the best time of the year, I have compiled some songs into a playlist that every Libra will enjoy and will help you start your Libra season on a great note.
- “Pretty Girl” by Clairo
-
Despite being a leo herself, Clairo has some pretty strong libra vibes in her music. Her song “Pretty Girl” is all about wanting to be whatever the person you’re crushing on wants. Libras live to please, so this song is very fitting.
- “Supermodel” by SZA
-
When SZA sang, “I need too much attention for [stuff] like that” in this song, my inner libra could relate hard. SZA’s 2017 album Ctrl speaks to all libras with its themes of wanting to feel appreciated in relationships and navigating femininity.
- “Ivy” by Frank Ocean
-
Libras are known for their relationship skills, but that doesn’t mean they are immune to heartbreak. Frank Ocean’s “Ivy” speaks of a love gone wrong in ways only a Libra will truly appreciate (especially considering Frank Ocean is a Libra cusp himself).
- “Francis Forever” by Mitski
-
Mitski, a proud libra, often includes themes of indecisiveness and yearning in her music. The lyrics, “I don’t think I could stand to be / Where you don’t see me” that she repeats throughout this song perfectly sums up a libra’s desire to feel wanted by his or her partner.
- “mirrorball” by Taylor Swift
-
Swifties around the world were left overwhelmed and shocked after Taylor Swift’s surprise release of her latest album Folklore. While all of the songs on the album are amazing, “mirrorball” is super fitting for libra season with its glamorous feel and message of trying to fit in.
- “Love” by Lana Del Rey
-
Libra season is all about finding beauty in everyday life. With lyrics like, “You get ready, you get all dressed up / To go nowhere in particular / …To be young and in love” this Lana Del Rey song embraces love and beauty wholeheartedly.
- “sweet thing” by Dijon
-
Dijon’s newest song “sweet thing” is exactly as the title says: a sweet thing. Filled with yearning and reverence with lyrics like “I’m only what you make me, baby,” it’s a perfect song for Libra season.
- “ILYSB – STRIPPED” by LANY
-
Just as Libras love to idealize love, this song is all about being completely devoted to your partner. Plus, the stripped version of “ILYSB” by LANY gives the song a new, softer vibe that is perfect for autumn.
- “Both Sides Now” by Joni Mitchell
-
Libra’s symbol is a balanced scale because they value harmony and peace above all else. This Joni Mitchell song about understanding that there is more than one side to life and love is a good lesson that Libra season aims to teach everyone.
- “Someone New” by Hozier
-
Libras are notorious flirts, which is the exact vibe of this Hozier song. It’s the perfect song to listen to before a (socially distanced) night out or just to get in the Libra spirit.
- “Strawberry Blond” by Mitski
-
Mitski’s songs illustrate the libra experience so well that I had to include her twice. In this song, Mitski sings of a love that is so powerful it goes beyond just herself and her partner. “Strawberry Blond” is as charming and lighthearted as Libra season should be.
- “Primadonna” by MARINA
-
In this song, MARINA, formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds, sings of the self-confidence (and occasional pettiness) that affects all of us during Libra season.
- “Treat People With Kindness” by Harry Styles
-
With a libra moon and rising in his chart, it’s no wonder that Harry Styles is so charming and lovable. His song “Treat People With Kindness” is a great choice for channeling the positivity and optimism inherent in Libra season.
