Victoria’s Secret is one of the world’s largest and most well-known lingerie brands. Its daughter store, PINK, provides young women and teens with fashionable athletic wear, college game day clothes, and tons of cute bras and undies. They also run a program which offers college students at participating schools the opportunity to be Campus Representatives. According to their website, “In keeping with its collegiate heritage and to strengthen the brand’s natural connection to campus, PINK launched the Campus Rep Program—an exclusive on-campus program that gives career-focused students the opportunity to gain real-life experience through event planning, marketing, and advertising.”

Temple’s current Campus Reps are Stephanie Rocha and Leah Hillegas. Aside from being co-reps for PINK this year, they are both involved in an abundance of other activities on and off-campus.

Rocha is a senior public relations major. She is also the social media manager for Temple F&B (Fashion and Business Club), holds a part-time job, and interns in the city with a fashion designer.

Hillegas is a junior advertising major with a public relations minor. She is an account executive for PRowl, Temple’s student-run PR firm and a member of PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America). Hillegas also has an internship with a digital and media marketing firm and runs the popular food blog/Instagram, @templefoodies.

As Campus Reps, Rocha and Hillegas gain a lot of experience in their prospective fields.

“Product promotion, product distribution, event-planning, that’s the main components of it,” Hillegas said. “It’s like a real-feel marketing experience. We’re on foot all the time, it’s really immersive.”

The program offers their representatives with great opportunities to connect with people in their fields as well. “I get to meet so many great and inspiring girl bosses who share the same interests that I do but have the knowledge that I’m aspiring to have,” Rocha said.

“I just love the field experience and I like seeing people get excited and also having an influence on people’s buying habits,” Hillegas said. “I’m a big fan of when we give girls free panties, they end up liking them so much that they end up going to the store and buying them. I just love getting people excited about a brand that I really like too.”

Interested in being a part of PINK on campus? You can apply this upcoming semester!

“We’ll be rehiring in the Spring,” Hillegas said. “It [the application] will be a Google form, it’ll get posted everywhere once that time comes.”
