How to Make Breakfast and College Mix

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” We all hear it, but how many people actually make time for it in the morning? It is difficult to decide between those fifteen minutes of extra sleep or eating a bowl of a cereal before leaving the house. America is known for being the country always on the go and now there are countless breakfast options that cater to this. They are actually quiet delicious!

Quick and Healthy Breakfast Ideas:

1.Nature Valley Breakfast Biscuits

These are a newer product and don’t make nearly as much mess or crunching noise as the regular nature valley bars do (so eating in an 8 am is totally acceptable). There are four mini bars in each pack and come in multiple flavors such as honey and blueberry.

Side note: 230 Calories, 9 grams of fiber, 28 grams of whole grain, 0 trans fat, no high fructose corn syrup and no artificial flavors

2.Quaker Real Medley’s Oatmeal +

Oatmeal on the go! This Quaker product comes in a disposal container that you can throw out after enjoying a multigrain breakfast with real chunks of fruits and nuts. There are flavors such as banana walnut, maple pecan raisin and more.

Side note: Now available with quinoa and flax seed

3.Jimmy Dean Delights

Jimmy Dean now makes a healthy choice for breakfast sandwiches. One in particular is egg white with spinach and mozzarella cheese on honey-wheat flatbread and it takes less than a minute to make!

4.Greek Yogurt with Granola

This is my personal favorite and is a light and crunchy snack for the morning. Greek yogurt comes in so many different flavors now that can accommodate any ones taste buds. Adding a spoonful or two of granola can give you that extra boost. It’s no parfait but it does the job just fine!

Side note: Greek yogurt = protein and granola = fiber for the perfect balance.

5.Nutri-Grain Eggo Waffles

These waffles have no cholesterol and pairing it with peanut butter or almond butter makes it a quick and easy on the go meal. Try adding some peanut butter for a boost of protein!

Side note: Two of these waffles are only 170 calories
