This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

There was so much hype about spring time because, lets face it, everyone was sick of the cold dreadful winter. Fortunately, spring finally graced us with her lovely presence and now it’s time to make room for the sizzling summer to come. What does this mean? It means that it’s time to get prepared! The first thing that people notice about someone is their appearance. In a world where beauty is vain we are taught that appearance does not equate to true beauty.

While the ladies at Her Campus Temple, agree with this notion, it is important to take pride in your outer appearance as well. This article will serve as a simple guide to achieving a radiant summer glow for 2015. There are major key factors that contribute to having supple skin that start from the inside and outside. If you want skin that will make those you pass do a double take continue reading.

Lets Talk About Health

An apple a day may keep the doctor the doctor away, but so does drinking at least eight ounces of water a day and eating healthy foods. Water is very important because it will keep the skin hydrated. If you do not drink enough water it will result in the appearance of dry, flakey skin.  Dry skin may also lead to wrinkles. Due to profuse sweating  in the summer it is vital that water is consumed in large amounts. The downside is that water is consumed by our other organs first, so you must apply water and moisturizers directly to your skin as well.

Over The Counter Products or Au Naturale

As advocates for the overall health of the skin, we believe that it’s important to have staple products on standby to help assist with succulent skin. It is essential to get a skin care regime down pat that will improve the overall look of your skin. The key ingredients to look for in your beauty products are water, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid. For those aren’t aware glycerin is a solvent that easily dissolves into the skin.

A good over the counter product to use is Cetaphil Everyday Moisturizing Cream which can found online or at Walmart.

Another great natural product for the skin is rose water which can be used on all skin types and helps to balance and cleanse the skin. This product is made by boiling rose petals in water.

Say Yes To Makeup

Another quick tip is to not be afraid of using illuminating foundation on your skin to bring out your healthy summer glow. A light illuminating foundation will give your skin an all over glow and will also minimize pores. Another tip is to mix in a matte foundation with your illuminating foundation to give you a sexy, natural looking summer glow. Try L’oreal Paris Lumi True Match and Maybelline Fit Me matte foundation.
