Cut the Cold: Perfect Jackets for the Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

It’s cold outside, but you already knew that.  Just because it’s disgustingly icy on your walk to class doesn’t mean you can’t look absolutely fabulous above those sad little goose bumps. These relatively affordable jackets are just trendy enough to get you through til summer. We even asked some of our favorite students studying abroad for their expert opinions on fashionable outerwear, so you know these pieces are up to par.

This American Apparel gem comes in three deliciously pastel colors: mint salmon, and lilac. A wool and nylon blend of warmth, this jacket would go beautifully with a simple pair of back, distressed jeans and simple white trainers. Andrew, a junior currently studying abroad in London, calls it “60’s mod in a casual, contemporary way.” Although this is the most expensive coat in the roundup, you simply can’t put a price on good quality.

For those days when the sun is shining just a little bit brighter and the wind tunnel that is Temple is taking a break, this beautiful blush bomber is the perfect piece to make you look like you actually tried (even though you didn’t even brush your teeth). Madeline, another Temple junior studying abroad commented,

“I love bombers because they make me feel bad a**, but the pink, silky effect makes this piece posh and delicate at the same time.”

If you’re feeling a little saucy and rock n’ roll this gorgeous work of art definitely fits your romantic little bill. Fuzzy and sweet with understated colors, this long and luxurious cover-up will make heads turn while keeping you warm. Don’t be afraid to make a statement! We are in Philadelphia, after all. Samara, a junior HCTU executive says, “I absolutely love the fashion forwardness of this coat and I think it’s super versatile. It will go with everything!”

What are you waiting for? Grab these jackets to ensure your fashion forward through the rest of this blistering winter.
