The Best Clean Beauty Products You Should Be Using Right Now

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

Take a look at the ingredients in the current beauty products you are using. Be honest– can you pronounce half of any of them? No! It’s probably not something you should be using on your skin then. Chemicals such as parabens, toluene, phthalates, and many more can be found in your everyday foundation. These chemicals can cause a number of issues not just on your skin but throughout your entire body as well. Luckily, an increasing number of companies are realizing that consumers are getting smarter and more conscious of what is healthy and what is not. I’ve put together some of my favorite clean beauty products in the market right now!

Fruit Pigmented Full Coverage Water Foundation from 100% Pure

I don’t know about you, but when I wear makeup I prefer it to feel light and fresh. If you share a similar preference, this foundation from 100% Pure should definitely be your go to. With all clean ingredients such as acai berry, aloe, and green tea, your face is bound to feel fresh and clean during and after use.

Replenishing Deep Sea Moisturizer from One Ocean

One Ocean is a beauty company that practices sustainable and science driven product formulation techniques. Their Replenishing Deep Sea Moisturizer is nutrient-dense and lightweight so it feels great on your skin all day. Most of the ingredients used to create this moisturizer are from the ocean, which is a natural source of nutrient-rich ingredients that are beneficial for your skin.

Clarifying Cleanser from Tata Harper Skincare

This cleanser is foaming gel cleanser and it is best to use if you have oily skin. After use your face will feel fresh and clean, just like the ingredients featured in this product. 100% of the ingredients used in this cleanser are derived from natural origin, and some ingredients are from organic farming.

100% Virgin Coconut Oil Shea Butter Lip Balm from Shea Moisture

I cannot express just how much I LOVE this lip balm! It is always important to have lip balm/gloss on you wherever you go, and this balm takes 1st place as my favorite balm to bring along with me. It leaves your lips feeling fresh and soft with a sweet coconut scent. The ingredients are natural and cruelty-free.

DIY Face Mask from, well, you!

The best thing about creating your own beauty products is that you know exactly what ingredients are going into your product because you made it yourself! My favorite DIY facemask is super easy. It consists of ½ teaspoon of turmeric (my favorite spice and a natural anti-inflammatory) and 1 tablespoon of honey (rich in antioxidants). Simple and effective.

These are just a few of my favorite clean ingredient beauty products, but luckily the demand for clean products is increasing, so there are so many more options for us! It is necessary to know what ingredients you are putting on your skin every day not only for yourself, but for the environment too.
