As a reality show fanatic and longtime fan of The Bachelor, fans have known this current season so far has been very chaotic. From the start, drama has filled the two hour-long episodes this season,  so how could we not expect anything less? So without further ado, here is what you need to know and the juicy parts of The Bachelor finale. Ps. Spoilers ahead read at your discretion.

Let’s begin the recap of Matt James’ finale. Since the previous episode, it was revealed that the final two girls were Rachael Kirkconnell and Michelle Young. Both have pretty interesting relationships with Matt, but this episode was definitely a turning point. After the separate meetings each girl had with Matt’s Mom, drama already started to arise. Shocking spoiler: Matt is starting to question if he is even ready for marriage, which in my opinion seems to be a little too late to be questioning this late.

Anyways, his excessive self doubt leads to a heartfelt conversation and confession to Michelle that he is unclear of his feelings and decides to send her home. It’s a heartbreaking moment, I’ll tell you! Matt was so distraught that he didn’t even go on the remaining date with Rachael, the last girl.

But it gets worse … fast forward to days before the rose ceremony and I was on the edge of my seat. He does end up getting a ring, but with a twist. Matt decides to NOT propose, but declares he still wants a relationship with Rachael instead, and she agrees. Happy ending, right?

Well wrong: after the final rose special was quite different this time. Starting with the absence of Chris Harrison and the scandal looming, it was quite chaotic. Rachael and Matt have revealed to have broken up for honestly a very good reason, but that didn’t make the encounter any less strange and awkward for the viewers at all. From the looks of it, I doubt there will be  wedding bells in Rachael and Matt’s future anytime soon.

Moving away from that, what we all have been waiting for is the next Bachelorette! This where the plot twist comes to play where instead of one girl, there will be 2 girls! There will be separate seasons: one this summer and one in fall. The best of the 2 new bachelorettes are DRUMROLL please… Katie and Michelle!

I don’t know about you, but I’m honestly very excited for this. I feel like these will definitely be really good seasons and will be hosted by the new host Emmaunel Acho, who I think did a great job hosting this finale. These will definitely be interesting seasons, and I’m so glad Michelle gets to have a second chance at finding real true love as well as Katie. Michelle and Katie are truly my favorite girls this season!

As for my opinion on this whole thing, it is definitely all over the place for sure. I think that Matt was not ready for all this, although his reason for breaking up with Rachael was justified; racial insensitivity should not be tolerated. As for the new bachelor host, I think he will be a good asset to the team and the next season will be just as great.

For now, let’s save up our snacks and finish our tasks as we wait for a whole new adventure coming summer 2021. I hope you guys join in!
