Sometimes our skin needs a little bit of extra love. With the new year and winter, let’s give our skin some new love! Here are some of my favorite skincare products that have been a blessing this winter!

As the first month of the new year comes to a close and we have transitioned to the bitterly cold weather, our skin needs a bit of TLC: tender loving care. I know for a fact the harsh winds lately have definitely taken a toll on my skin for the past week or so. Here is a list of my personal favorite products that work like a charm.

Now to start off, my skin is mostly normal skin but more on the sensitive side, so I prefer to use products that aid both things. For face washing my new favorite is the Hydrating cleanser with the Cerave line. It’s a non-fragrance face wash that is really helpful and leaves me so hydrated afterward.  I would definitely say this is a winter staple especially if you have dry skin.

The next product that I have been loving lately is the Good Molecules Niacinamide brightening toner. A long title but honestly it really works wonders. It is a very smooth formula and Good molecules brand all together is all about eco-friendly and clean products which I love as well. So far, it has been great for keeping up with hydration for me.

Now let’s go to serums. Personally, I think a good serum goes a long way. Currently, I’m using another product from Good Molecules Daily brightening serum, which in my opinion is much better than the ordinary Alpha Arbutin. The consistency is very lightweight which is something that I really like, and does not feel super sticky the way other serums tend to feel. Also, it has really brightened up my hyperpigmentation which is a blessing.

Now last but not least, Moisturizers and sunscreen. This is one of my favorite steps because moisturizers really help set off that Glass-like look. My favorites are Clinique moisture surge, and Bondi sands sunscreen. Now the moisture surge can be quite pricey but honestly, it is so worth it. It is so hydrating and you only need a little bit of product to get the effect so the bottle lasts quite a while. Lastly, sunscreen is always hard to find especially as a dark skin black girl, but I finally found a cheap water-based one with bond sandi. It is fragrance-free and really keeps me looking gelled up and hydrated for the rest of the day. Which in the winter is a Godsend.

For honorable mention, dry lips can be frustrating l been loving chapstick total hydration as it is like butter in a tube, keeps my lips moisturized for hours on end!

Winter can be brutal but doesn’t mean we can’t have great skin! With these products mentioned, I’m sure you guys will see a significant improvement in your skin for sure. Remember sometimes it is good to give your skin a little extra love.
