8 Things that Happen When You Start to Like Your Designated Hook-Up (as told by Amy Schumer)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

So, you’ve never been the relationship-type. You’re kind of love loving yourself.

It doesn’t chip at you to hook up with semi-decent guys, sometimes less than, because you don’t feel like commitment is your thing, and it doesn’t really feel like a guy could provide any sort of completion right now that you couldn’t feel on your own. You appreciate the way things are going with yourself and don’t want to change.

But every once in a while, a relationship with your designated hook-up becomes indistinguishable from an actual relationship, and you kind of freak TF out. Her Campus, gets it and we know eight things you undoubtedly have experienced.

1. Responding to his snaps requires anywhere from 10-15 retakes,

and even still, you’re never really satisfied.

2. When he texts you and you actually feel nervous to meet up, so you have “just, like, one more drink.”

3. You feel yourself slowly becoming completely bored when you hook up with anyone else…

4. When you definitely want to “chill,”

but for some reason you also want to “Netflix.”

5. When you start to spend more time than you’re proud of getting ready…

6. Usually when a hook up cancels it’s like…

but now it’s like…

7. When you get flashbacks from the night before and you physically cringe, because you’re starting to care what he thinks:

8. When you know you’re going to be a mess (no hot) the next day, and there are so many reasons why you should sneak out as immediately as possible, but you actually want to stay over and just…

Getting with people, plainly, is fun, but you can’t help what works. Sometimes it sucks to like someone because you’re a casual kind of girl, it can feel like you’re losing control of yourself rather than gaining it but you’re not sacrificing your independence. Liking someone doesn’t mean loving yourself any less.
