5 Up-and-Coming Artists You Should Know About

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

Whether you’re someone who finds new songs through Spotify or Apple music, or someone whose music choices come from friends’ suggestions, finding new music to study to or relax with after a long day of classes is a great accomplishment no matter how small it may sound.

Here are five up-and-coming artists that should be on your new music radar.

1. Chase Atlantic

At first glance, Chase Atlantic may seem like your average “edgy-boy band,” but they are much more than that. Hailing from Australia, this group consists of two brothers, Mitchel and Clinton Cave, and their friend Christian Anthony. Their sound incorporates R&B vocals with pop and rock beats. Their songs like “Into It” and “Church” are perfect for those late night talks with your friends or when you’re relaxing in bed after a long day.

2. VÉRITÉ

Kelsey Byrne, or better known by her stage name, VÉRITÉ, is a singer based out of Brooklyn, New York. Her cover of The 1975’s “Somebody Else” became a streaming success and has been compared to Lana Del Rey’s sound. When you’re up late thinking about your life choices, definitely consider playing some VÉRITÉ.

3. H.E.R.

For those who find themselves vibing with the music of SZA, I recommend listening to H.E.R. She’s an R&B artist who is all about women supporting other women through tough and vulnerable times. Although her identity has remained anonymous, her vocals do not disappoint.

4. Jacob Lee

If you’re a fan of either Troye Sivan or Shawn Mendes, then you’ll most likely enjoy Jacob Lee. His songs such as “ I Just Know” and “Demons” are great for studying late at night.

5. Phoebe Ryan

Looking for something a little bit on the happier side? Then look no further because Phoebe Ryan is your new favorite artist. Her song, “Forgetting All About You” is perfect for when you’re going through a tough break up or just in a need of a pick me up.

Finding new music is definitely a struggle that we can all relate to. It seems like nothing can ever fit the vibe quite right, but these artists who come from a wide range of sounds can help you set the mood no matter how you’re feeling.
