Spring Break is just around the corner, and everyone is getting excited for whatever extravagant excursion they have planned. While getting lit in South Padre or Vegas might be enticing to many, sometimes a low-key spring break can be just as adventurous and enjoyable. If you’re like me and you still haven’t figured out how to spend your break, here is a list of nearby trip ideas that are easy to do, extremely fun, and that you’ll remember when the week is over.

Cadillac Ranch

This popular roadside attraction near Amarillo is one of the most famous road trip destinations in Texas. It features ten Cadillac cars planted into the ground with their tail fins in the air. You can go appreciate this bizarre hipster exhibition on Route 66 and contribute your own graffiti on the cars to leave your mark.

Houston Museum District

Houston is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Fort Worth, and the city’s amazing Museum District is home to a whopping 19 museums. The area will satisfy all your culture needs. There is a Contemporary Arts Museum, Museum of African American Culture, Museum of Natural Science, and a Museum of Fine Arts, just to name a few. The renowned Houston Zoo is even nearby, so you’ll never be at a loss for activities in Houston.

Natural Bridge Caverns in San Antonio

To see the natural side of what Texas has to offer, you can go to the Natural Bridge Caverns in San Antonio. The caverns are the largest commercial cave in Texas, and you can see this for yourself on a tour down into the 100-foot-high Hall of the Mountain King. If you’ve never been to a cavern before, I highly recommend it—some of the most impressive views I’ve ever seen were underground!

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

TCU’s Spring Break this year perfectly lines up with the dates of the Houston Rodeo. If you loved the Fort Worth Rodeo, the one in Houston has it all and more. Plus, the week we’re on break has some pretty awesome artists coming to perform: The Chainsmokers, Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan…need I say more?
