Things to Focus on in 2017

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TCU chapter.

1.  God.

Somewhere along the way this year I feel as though we have put faith on the back burner. No matter the social media controversy, political drama, or economical struggles, we must remember to focus on Him. He is the reason we have what we have and we need to focus on His positivity versus the negativity that is so easy to grasp onto.

 2. Privacy

As a teenager in the 21st century, staying loyal to your values and morals has become something very difficult to achieve. We often times get too focused on likes, retweets, and comments that we forget we don’t actually need to share everything with the public. Privacy is something you choose; it is not given.

3. There will always be someone hotter than you, smarter than you, and thinner than you, but that shouldn’t stop you from being you.

This is something that is so difficult to understand today. Kids are now growing up while seeing photos online of people who set an unbelievably high standard. We need to remember that you are who you are because of Him. He made you to be you and we need to accept that. Like I said, there will always be someone better. But that does by no means mean that you are not good enough.

4. It cost $0 to be a kind person.

 So… be kind.

5. Don’t settle.

Never settle for anything less than greatness. We are human beings with the incredible gift of living and being able to ,essentially, do anything we put our minds to. Put your mind to something and achieve the dream you have dreamt. You’re worth it.
