It is officially that time of year: the air is crisp, people can be seen walking around in various costumes, and Kroger is stocked with creepy-fun decorations and makeup. Halloween season is upon the TCU campus. While visiting haunted houses and peeking through your fingers at scary movies is fun for some people, others who don’t love being scared may be wondering what they can do for fun to celebrate Halloween. One fun option is to make Halloween treats to share with your friends and suite mates!

The following are Halloween treat recipes that are so easy that you could easily make them in your dorm’s kitchen:

Ghosts in the Graveyard

Ingredients:

1 3.2-ounce package of instant chocolate pudding

1 cup cold water

1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk

1 pint heavy whipping cream, divided

2 cups Oreo cookies

10-12 Mint Milano cookies

Marker with edible ink or 1/4 cup chocolate chips mixed with 1 teaspoon canola oil, melted in a Ziploc bag

1/4 cup powdered sugar

Candy eyes (look for them in the cake decorating section of your grocery or craft store)

Jack-O-Lantern Quesadillas

Ingredients:

1 can Refried Beans

Shredded Mexican Cheese Blend

10 Flour Tortillas (Soft Taco or Fajita Size)

Rice Crispy Treat Monsters

Ingredients

For the Rice Krispie Treats:

¼ cup Butter

1 Bag Large Marshmallows (approximately 40 marshmallows)

½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract

6 cups Rice Krispies

 

For the Monster Coating:

Candy Melts (Pink, Orange, Blue and Vibrant Green)

Candy Eyes (Small, Medium and Large)

Cooking Oil
