Owning a Kindle Has Changed My Reading Game

I have been a huge book reader ever since I read my first Colleen Hoover book, Ugly Love. After realizing that reading can be fun, I read all of Hoover’s books and eventually expanded to other authors I have come to love.
Since coming to college, I have been reading less. I would finish a book and dread the moment I had to order a new one. Not having a car in college made this even more of a challenge, knowing I would have to wait for Amazon to deliver my book before I could start reading.

I was hesitant about getting a Kindle because I would miss the satisfaction of flipping a page. When my brother offered to ship me his, I decided to give it a try, and I can confirm this is a must-have for book readers.

Here are 3 reasons why you should get a Kindle:

  1. You will read books faster

Kindles make reading feel effortless. Once you finish a book, you can dive into the next one in seconds. No more driving to a bookstore or waiting for an online order to arrive. With the Amazon Kindle, a library is presented right at your fingertips.

The Kindle Unlimited subscription provides access to a library of over 5 million digital books, as well as thousands of audiobooks and magazines. This makes it easier for book lovers to bounce from one book to the next while also saving money.

2. Less book clutter in your room

I don’t know about you, but I am running out of places in my room to store my books. That’s why a Kindle is such a game-changer. Instead of piling books on your bookshelf, you can store your entire library on one device. The stories are still there but without all the clutter. Ultimately, a Kindle will make your life feel more organized.

3. Read books anywhere

Since having a Kindle, I’ve noticed that I have been reading everywhere I go. I keep my Kindle in a school bag at all times, so I can read a couple of pages whenever I have downtime throughout the day. Kindles take up way less space than a book would. Another hack I have discovered is reading on the treadmill. It makes working out go much faster. Since you don’t have to flip pages, you are free to position yourself however you like, whether that’s lying on your slide in bed or lying on your back while tanning at the pool. The possibilities are endless when you win a Kindle.

Book recommendations to get you started on your Kindle:

  1. Dear Debbie – Ferida McFadden

Ferida McFadden has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I typically read her books in a few days.

Debbie Mullen is an advice column author who loses her job and finds out her husband is keeping secrets from her. She decides it’s time to take her own advice and get revenge on men who have wronged her and her readers, creating a twisted and intense book you won’t want to put down

2. Verity – Colleen Hoover

This is, of course, by Colleen Hoover, the author who started my reading obsession. This Amazon psychological thriller is about a struggling writer, Lowen Ashleigh, who accepts a job finishing the remaining books of the Verity Crawford series. This famous author is unable to write after a car accident. Lowen, while looking into Verity’s manuscript, discovers the true horror behind Verity’s life.

3. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo – Taylor Jenkins Reid

Hollywood icon Evelyn Hugo hires reporter Monique Grant to write her life story. Through telling her story, Evelyn reveals the truth behind her chaotic life and her seven marriages. Her twisted story makes this book a fast-paced, captivating read.
