Mother of the Earth

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TCU chapter.

Your touch, your smell, and the ever-changing colors of your being

The way I feel when you’re all around me the love and compassion.

Serenity fills my every being; you bring me to a simple place.

The greens are greener, the grasses richer,

The blossoms of flowers in the early morning, leading to the bees kissing them with the purest of love and devotion I sit with you for hours.

A brook running around me, sending the sweetest of sounds into the air

The water chills me, which only brings me closer to you.

The sun gently kissing my golden skin bringing it to the lightest of pinks

I lay in a bed of flowers as the bees swarm around me, as I watch the creatures in the clouds appear in your presence.

Pinks, golds and purples push the blue out of the sky.

Darkness soon moves into place.

The nights with you are my favorite.

The stars shine down, so bright. They bring me the simplest of joys.

Art in the sky, as I would call it, and you would just laugh, making the forests and meadows erupt with joy.

The reflection of the moon on a lake not far, made the moments mystical and magical.

The air no longer warms my skin but brings it to a chill, but you wrapped yourself around me in the only way you know how.

The fire kindles my spirit as the colors dance in the night.

I loved you when no one else would; you gave me everything I could ever ask for.

You are my muse, my passion.

I called you my mother, the mother of beauty.

You gave me all the riches of your Earth.

You fed me when I was hungry; you provided drink for my thirst.

You gave me everything I needed for life and all I did was take, take the beauty.

I took the light from your eyes mother and I am sorry.
