In addition to warm weather, baseball season, and beautiful TCU tulips, April brings National Brunch Month, an amazing excuse to eat my favorite meal of the day, every day. As a self-proclaimed brunch connoisseur, I am well-versed in the brunch options of Cowtown. Grab your gal pals and check out these amazing brunch spots around Fort Worth!

My Go-TO

Bacon breakfast on a bun (bacon, egg, sharp white cheddar, garlic aioli, & tomato on brioche) with a side of fresh fruit

Vegans and non-vegans alike agree that HG’s vegan queso is a must-try. Just about five minutes down the road and right on the Trinity River, HG is a true TCU classic.

University: 1509 S University Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76107

My Go-TO

Original Ol’ South pancakes buttermilk short stack with LOTS of syrup

Ol South is a TCU and Fort Worth staple. Go for the pancakes, stay for the amazing people watching.

Saturday-Sunday: 7 AM-3 PM

My Go-TO

Loaded baked potato cakes (potato pancakes loaded with bacon, cheddar cheese, chives, and topped with sour cream)

Yolk has amazing strawberry-orange juice and delicious cinnamon rolls. I would definitely recommend joining their waitlist on Yelp before going on a weekend — the line can be up to two hours long! It’s that good. While you’re waiting, you can take photos with your gal pals in Sundance Square, right around the corner.

Clearfork: 4801 Edwards Ranch Rd #105, Fort Worth, TX 76109

My Go-TO

El Cubico (big burrito with eggs, country ham, quinoa, cheddar, spinach, butternut squash, avocado, served with breakfast potatoes)

Honorable Mentions

Press’s iced coffee is absolutely delicious! Just the perfect amount of sweet. This pick is right on the Trinity River, with beautiful views and lots of people walking their furry friends. Go on a Saturday and take a walk around the farmer’s market held right next door!

Location & Hours

Camp Bowie: 6333 Camp Bowie Blvd Ste. 280, Fort Worth, TX 76116

7 AM-2:30 PM

My Go-TO

If I’m really hungry, I’ll go with a farmhouse skillet hash (two cage-free eggs any style atop fresh, seasoned potatoes with bacon, avocado, house-roasted onions, and tomatoes with Cheddar and Monterey Jack).

Otherwise, it’s an egg white Bacado omelet (bacon, avocado, and Monterey Jack, topped with all-natural sour cream and served with a side of house-made pico de gallo).

Honorable Mentions

First Watch has a really wonderful and sweet iced coffee. I also like to check out their seasonal menu and juices.

That’s it! Let me know if you have any brunch spots I need to try — I definitely will. Happy National Brunch Month!
