13 Thoughts You Have on the First Day of Fall in Texas According to Spongebob

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TCU chapter.

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and I’m sweating bullets while I walk to class through the secret back alley behind Moudy South. Every news source, magazine, and wanna-be famous lifestyle blogger on Instagram tells me that it’s the first day of fall, but Mother Nature tells me otherwise. As many of us Texans know, fall is a mythical season in the South filled with three days that are maybe (if we’re lucky) in the 80-degree range before we drop down to what feels like 30 degrees below zero. The dream of a true fall season is almost as true as my obsession with TCU beating Baylor in…oh, eight weeks…but here are thirteen thoughts of mine on this sunburn worthy, Texas edition of the first day of “fall” featuring the one and only, Spongebob.

1.  Now that we are more than three weeks into the month of September, I don’t feel so cliché drinking a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks.

2.  I already have two zillion sweaters, but oh my gosh I need four zillion more.

3.  If I see one person wearing riding boots before mid-October, I will judge you.

4.  I can’t wait to sit on outdoor patios at restaurants and cool down with my homies.

5.  What in the world am I going to be for Halloween this year…

6.  Time to whip out the fall nail polish colors.

7.  I’m going to be pale very, very soon. This is not a good thing.

8.  I need a pumpkin to carve, ASAP.

9.  Soon, I won’t sweat through every piece of clothing I own at football games.

10.  I’m really going to miss walking to class in a t-shirt and shorts.

11.  I need a fall candle. Where can I get a fall candle? SOS.

12.  Will the leaves in Fort Worth ever change colors? Probably just for two days.

13.  How much longer until hibernation season…AKA winter?
